One of the things about ARGs, well the best ARGs is that they combine offline, online, and experiential events seamlessly to create the entertainment piece. Now PlayStation Home has its first ARG! Called Xi and developed by nDreams, graffiti placed in the plaza transports users to the game hub. To find out more check out the Joystiq story.
What do I like about this? Well I don’t have a PS3… but this idea of this is brilliant. You can combine the off-line elements of a typical ARG into the virtual world… leaving clues around the environment. The first task requires users to find three pieces of paper littered around the hub.
A game inside what is effeivtly a game! This has definatly shown markters that Home has some potential… to what level we will see. If the development continues we could see some extreamly creative engadgement pieces come from this technology.
